If they could compete amongst themselves in just the solo faction that would be fine, you really wouldn't need a second faction then. But they're too huggy and work together to get all their stuff done instead of all vying to try and get into control.What many never seem to be able to grasp is that you need not be in a different faction to be rivals. A lot of the great tension from the old days came from competition within. You just have to remember to follow the rules and separate IC from OOC. |

Just try it. We've tried having big schism type conflicts within the faction. Both attempts failed. It was much easier to be rivals when we were in separate factions. |

well we had to do something, everyone was just getting along too well for my comfort. so I slammed an SSD into Coruscant to start some inner turmoil for the
Sith. worked for a bit....but not really. not as much infighting as I would have hoped to have happen.

The problem there was that people assumed the 'civil war' was a temporary thing, like we would roleplay it out and after a couple of threads we would
all make friends again. It should be an on-going struggle.

Thats because you have to avoid planning, at least on a largly public level. Get a few people in on something, use back channels, and gradually build it into
something bigger as more people are included......
