With a permissive gesture Talon indicated that Emerald could explain his knowledge in any way he liked. The Master listened closely to what Emerald was saying and mulled his words over in his mind, and decided that as a basis it was fine, or at least not the usual drivel he was subjected to by students who thought they knew it all just because daddy touched them and made them angry. How he despised those who thought anger and hatred were all that the Sith were about and wielded the darkside like a cumbersome blunt instrument of destruction.

"Interesting," Talon spoke as he finally pushed himself up from his seat to stand before his new student. "Respect and patience for an ally," he summed up a few of the points Emerald had made. "Some Sith might call those Jedi philosophies, but then some Sith have the intelligence of a dead Bantha."

In some ways Emerald was correct, the force was their ally and its power over them needed to be respected before they could wield it for their own purposes. It was not something that the Sith usually taught to their students, but rather something they picked up for themselves the first time they crossed paths with a Jedi. If they did not respect what the force was telling them than they were doomed never to overcome their enemies.

"There is a point a few inches below your belly button where, no matter how well muscled you are, will always remain soft," the Sith Master commented as if plucking this strange fact out of thin air. "This is your centre of gravity, but do not think of it as a singular point; imagine that it goes straight through you...continuing in front and behind you forever as well as circling your body like a belt," Talon had yet to reveal the relevence of this information, but it wasn't very often that he spoke without reason.

Over the years, Talon had trained in several martial arts and he had learned to link this centre of gravity with his centre in the force; they were in fact directly akin to one another. It was this centre of being that the entire force-filled universe radiated from, and if one could learn to extend their power from this centre any enemy they fought would not be fighting against the instability of someone who just wielded the force, but instead they would meet with a stability where they were expecting none. After explaining this, Talon continued with the lesson.

"If I were to force push you using all my power, there is little doubt that you would be flung from this room, but that would not show the validity of this exercise. Stand ready and I will begin with a gentle force push."

What Talon planned to do was simple enough; he wished to test and train Emerald's mind. His force push would likely see Emerald resist, perhaps he would dig his heels into the ground, clench his toes, or even lean forward so as not to sway or topple backwards. Of course he would be successful, but then what if Talon pulled him towards him? All his effort in remaining where he stood would then do nothing but make it easier for Talon. It was therefore simply a test to prove this fact before instructing Emerald to use his centre.

"Ready?" Talon asked, not really caring if he was before sending a small force push towards him...followed a moment later by a gentle pull to show that his stability against the push left him vulnerable to the pull.

This was all very basic stuff, but Talon's whole philosophy was built upon it. The Sith Master could show Emerald how to attack and defend from his centre; how to use the energy of others and conserve his own simply by changing the way he thought. The power of the mind in the force was unparalelled.
