Favorite James Cameron Film? | ||

Aliens was by far my favorite. It was gritty, frightening, and exciting all in at the same time. Plus, the fight at the end with the Queen and the Power-Loader
ruled. Scared the crap out of me when I first saw it.

But Aliens was a sequel to a better directors work...

Oh but he was the exec producer for that one. Urrr....I'll go with the Abyss...that was really nice. Though I pretty much liked all the rest of his movies
too.

true Ceel, but that doesn't mean Aliens wasn't a good movie.

Fair enough. However you have to admit that its hardly the same situation as creating and developing a project all on his own.

very true, since he took what Ridley Scott had started and simply expanded on it. But the question was what was my favorite, and I am a huge Aliens fan.

Did you know that Cameron was on the verge of agreeing to do another Alien film......... and then the studio told him about Alien VS Predator and that
basically ended that.

Ridley Scott's Alien versus James Cameron's Aliens?

$!$#. That would have been so much better than AVP. Alien 5 would be amazing, and bringing back Ripley-5 as well would be pretty cool to see. Also, a newer
model of Bishop... man.

Alien started it all. It introduced the facehugger, the chestburster, and the eventual full-grown Alien drone. It may have been considered slow, but it was
terrifying. Not being able to see the Alien until pretty much the very end (other than a shot of it coming down through some chains) made everyone ask... what
the hell are we up against?
While Aliens simply expanded on that idea. Going straight back to the planet it all started from and bringing us more aliens than we could count, as well as the introduction of the Alien Queen was very exciting. Cameron followed Scott's set-up, leavin the Aliens hidden until the right moment when all hell breaks loose. Amazing. Both movies are extremely well done and I enjoyed both of them as much. The first was mostly a horror/suspense while the second leaned a little bit more into action. In my opinion, they are both masterpieces of their own rights. |

AVP was an abomination to the series. Alien Resurrection was no great shakes but it wasn't a complete embarassment like AVP was.

I'm a big fan of the Alien franchise and loved both movies so much, watching them over and over, but it's still no question for me which one is better:

AVP was a disaster, both movies.
Anyway, for Cameron it comes down to Terminator. |

Was AVP a prequel to them all showing why there were so few Predators left?
I personally like the Abyss, I cant exactly say why but it grows on me every time I Watch it |

I will be the party pooper, going with Aliens. Maybe it was because the first one I saw was the Directors cut of Alien but the first one was too slow for me...
I know that was the point but it was very slow especially with all the added footage...

AVP was a poor attempt to bridge the two species. The games and comics did a much better job. Although, AVP did answer questions about Wayland Industries and
how the company first started, where AVP2 brought Yutani into the mix and showed their connection with military contracts. It also shows that
Wayland-Yutani's advanced technology is a result of reverse engineering Predator weaponry.
