When did Bane put his Drag Me To Hell pick in, because we both have the same number and I didn't think that was allowed.

Wow, this engendered absolutely no discussion. I'm getting burned out on the theater even though it's early in the season. Although I do want to catch
Drag Me to Hell at some point.

Up is getting good reviews, as expected of a Pixar flick.
And Drag Me to Hell is also getting good reviews... |

I'm still bored with Pixar. And of course they are getting good reviews these days...because they have the critits in their back pocket. Everybody is
making money so nobody is complaining.

Disney and Pixar joined forces for their tenth consecutive number one hit with the 3D animated adventure Up which bowed to an estimated $21M on Friday in its
first day of release. The figure fell a bit short compared to the $23.1M opening Friday of the last film from the toon team, last summer's WALL•E. However,
that eventual Oscar winner debuted in late June when virtually all children were out of school and able to see films all day on a Friday.
Compared to other Pixar hits released in late May or early June when most schools are still in session, Up was slightly ahead of 2006's Cars ($19.5M Friday, $60.1M weekend) and 2003's Finding Nemo ($20.2M, $70.3M). Nemo bowed on the exact same weekend and its first day accounted for only 29% of the three-day debut thanks to a healthy 39% jump on Saturday and slim 21% dip on Sunday. The new floating house pic is benefiting from some of the most glowing reviews of the year and the extra surcharges that theaters are collecting for the 3D presentation, but is facing solid competition for family audiences from last weekend's top opener Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian which should finish the weekend in second place. For the Friday-to-Sunday period, Up may take in $65-70M. The frame's other new release came in the form of the horror entry Drag Me to Hell which scared up an estimated $6.4M on Friday, its first day of play. Compared to other fright films from this year, Universal's Sam Raimi-directed supernatural thriller fared better than March's The Last House on the Left ($5.6M Friday, $14.1M weekend), but was behind January's The Unborn ($8M, $21.1M) and My Bloody Valentine 3D ($8.1M, $21.2M). Look for Drag to reach $17-19M over three days. Among sophomores on Friday, the Museum sequel captured an estimated $7.5M, down 52% from its opening day a week ago, while Terminator Salvation fell 65% to an estimated $5.1M. Weekend grosses should reach $24-26M and $16-18M, respectively. |

I didn't hear anything about this film being intentionally funny like his previous horror films.

All I've heard is its his return to form and that its deliciously and at times cruely fun... whatever that means in critic speak
