It had been many years since Anija had set foot on Corellia. The last time had been that run for the Rebs. A soft chuckle passed from her lips as she remembered that job. As to why she was here now, that was a different story entirely. Anija sighed as she settled the Bralor into its assigned docking bay. Jarrod Kincade. One of only two Jedi that she trusted. Especially after that mess on Onderon... That thought sobered her slightly. Whatever weapon thay had hoped to find, they had been waylaid and set back by attacks from some dark evil presence, and the disappearance of their vode.

Why she was here now was what mattered. Jarrod had contacted her not long after their depature from Onderon. They both wanted to know about their family and their past. What she had been able to find about his family wasn't much. But that didn't stop her, She continued to dig through holonews reports, police reports, and anything else she could find. Again, much like her search for information on her own parents, she knew that she would have to tread carefully.

After a long moment lost in thought, Anija rose from the pilot's seat and opened a comm frequency to Jarrod. Her message was simple, even over the scrambled comm. "Jarrod. I'm here. I'll be there in five minutes. - Anija." Blinking, she closeed the link via her HUD and made her way off the ship, locking down the Bralor behind her. Yes, Corellia was a Jetiise-held world, but as she had learned over the years, one could never be too careful. And not every Jetiise was to be trusted.

Even through the comm message, Anija could hear the shift in Jarrod's voice. It was subtle but there. She sighed softly beneath her helmet. Most on Corellia knew better than to mess with a Mandalorian. After a few minutes, Anija stepped out of the hover taxi in front of the theater. It was a large open air amphitheater, used for drama performances and other such things.

The area was filling quickly. As she glanced around, she noticed that another performance was about to start soon. How she was going to find Jarrod in this mess she had no clue. But then something occurred to her. What if she tracked him via his comm signal? Would that even work when it wasn't active? She shrugged, and opened his frequency again. "Jarrod, meet me in the upper gallery, you can't miss me..." There was a hint of a smile on her lips as she thought of her deep purple beskar'gam. "I'm close to the rear wall."

She wondered what was so important that he would risk the ire of the council to come see her. From her own digging, she knew how hard it was to find things on her mother. It had been as difficult if not more so finding information on his.

Silently, Anija nodded and took the bundled cloak, slipping it on quickly. After flipping up the hood, she carefully pulled off the helmet and slipped it into a satchel of her own. At first, she was confused as to his actions, but after Naboo, she could understand his caution. After clipping the padded satchel to her belt, she adjusted the hood and followed as he led the quickly from the gallery. What was so important, she didn't know, but she trusted him.

When they had finally gotten out of the theater, Anija gently pulled him aside and leaned in close as if they wer two lovers. "Jarrod, what's going on, ner vod (my friend)?" He didn't normally act like this that she could remember, and while one had to be worried in these times, something was definitely bugging him. Even she could tell. From all her years of reading people, she knew the signs.

As Jarrod led her to one of the small private huts, they stepped inside away from prying eyes. Only then did he turn to her and speak softly. "...I ....well gotten some more head way into your mother's past and...its not much yet ....but i think may be getting close...someone else involved in this matters seem to have gotten notice...and way I see it ...not looking all to promising...." His words stopped her cold. "Jarrod, what do you mean...?"

She spoke just as softly, and could feel a slight hitch in her chest at his mention of her mother. Slowly she sat down on of the chairs in the small room. "Jarrod, please tell me....what's going on...?" She rose from her seat again, and gently took his hands in hers. "Gedet'ye (please) tell me...."

Jarrod looked away for a moment, his words soft as he continued to speak. "....Well ....I'm sorry....but I know I should have seen it from the start...how could I've been so blind. But it would appear from what I've gathered just recently that it was not the Imperials nor the occupation of Corellia that drove her to do what she had .....that somehow it leads me to believe there was perhaps maybe someone ....something else at play here that...well i leave you to be the judge of it..."

He then slowly loosen her grip on his left hand and reaching into his cloak handed her a seemly normal cube.

"...I know the Masters wouldn't like it that I sort of borrowed...well actually...stole one of the artifacts from the archives but....I figure ....this might maybe explain much of what I can't seem put into words....its what I assume was called a holocube......a device used in the past to record and capture things much like a datapad....yet more complicated and secure.....as unlike datapads....they don't open or activate at a whim...but by force signature program or embedded by the individual jedi...."

As the cool surface of the cube was pressed into her fingers, Anija's breath caught in her throat. Slowly, she turned her gaze from Jarrod's face to the small object in her hands. It was almost completely filled the palm of her left hand as she held it up to the light. There were symbols etched into its surface, ones that she had only come to understand after her time on Ordo. What was contained within, she had no idea. Though his words did give her some small clues. Until now, the only connections she had with her past were the lightsaber Mac had given her, the trials on Ordo, and the fragmented birth certificate Mac hand found.

Jarrod's soft words, while they brought her some measure of comfort in the fact that she would finally know what happened, something in his words caused a cold knot to form in her stomach. Letting out a nervous breath, Anija's fingers tightend around the holocube. After a moment, some light source inside flickered to life with a soft musical tone. "Identity confirmed. Access granted.." A melodic computer voice spoke from within the cube.

Slowly, Anija sank back into the chair, her hands shaking as she cradled the cube in her lap. A holographic display formed in the air over the cube. Images, information flickered in front of her gaze. Her...parents... The thought crossed her mind in an instant as as image steadied in front of her. A man and a woman dressed in traditional Mandalorian wedding garb. Her breath caught for a moment, and then the picture was replaced by slowly scrolling text.

As she began to read, at first a smile touched her lips. But soon, her face was as still as stone. Her mother....Mariya, had been sent by the Jettiise to infiltrate and study Mandalorian culture to determine if they were a threat to the Jetiise. In her efforts to blend in, she became friends with one Var'ik Ordo. The two grew close to one another, and soon, they married. It was only after Mariya had given birth to their daughter Anija that her treachery against the Mandalorians was discovered. When Var'ik found out, he was furious.

She had hidden her true purpose all this time, claiming to love him. She had given him a child, but that didn't negate what she had done. Her actions were treason against the Mandalorian people. He pleaded with the elders, but nothing could be done. He knew the consequence of such treachery. Anija continued reading what had obviously been a collection of private journals, mixed in with official reports.

Var'ik was beside himself with grief and anger. The honor of Ordo must be satisfied. If not for him, then for his young daughter. With quiet deliberation, he undertook his task. The punishment for such treachery was death. Anija's heart wrenched in her chest as she read how he had cut Mariya down. Not even a chance...but he was doing what he felt was right...Once he had done the deed, her buried her body deep in an unmarked grave, hoping the local creatures wouldn't find it.

With that done, he took his young daughter to Corellia and left her in the care of a local orphanage with very clear instructions. She was never to know of her Mando'ade or Jetiise heritage. He hoped that by doing so, her could spare his young daughter tha shame and heartache which now tainted her clan.

The only thing that she had was a small tattoo that he had given her when she turned one. His hope that perhaps someday she could overcome her past. And there was more. After he had left Anija on Corellia, he returned to Ordo, and began ammassing ships and weapons along with the rest of his clan. He knew someday that she would return. As the last words scrolled before her eyes, Anija blinked, and felt her fingers convulsively loosen on the cube in her hand. Tears blurred her vision as she stared down at the object in her hand. So much pain.

After a long moment of silence, she finally turned her tear-stained face to Jarrod. Her time on Ordo.. the trials she face there made sense now...but still the pain remained. Sobbing quietly, she clutched the holocube to her chest. She barely felt Jarrod's hand on her shoulder as her crouched in front of her.
