Years before the Jedi and Sith had ever become prominent, there was a race that lived on a far away planet, deep within the outer rim. That race was the Nordonians. They were a simple folk who rarely took the time to venture off-world, and when they did they tended to not travel very far. They didn't like meeting with the people that they had seen as coming to rule the galaxy. It frightened them to think that these people may one day control their very planet. No, they decided to stay as clear away from most people as they possible could.

But there was another reason for this…

The Nordonians were seers. Every single one of them was at the very least Force attuned. Yes, before the Jedi and the Sith there were still people who understood the meaning of the Force. And these particular people were adept at seeing what the future held. Usually it was just their own future or the future of their close friends and family, but every so often there would be one who could see beyond that. Normally these were limited to seeing planet-wide events and nothing else. One of these had been the one to envision the construction of the machines.

Years after that seer died, another seer was born with immense power. This one could see further than any of the others had ever been able to dream of seeing. She saw the galaxy, changing as it always would and knew that things were good. But one day she saw the galaxy differently. She saw worlds at war with each other, entire planetary systems grouped together under one banner to fight another. She saw worlds destroyed by monstrous machines and new destruction that none of the others could ever have predicted. It scared her so much that after she recorded her vision, she died.

The Nordonians seized on this vision, knowing it to be true because none of their visions were ever wrong. They saw the connection between this vision and the vision of the machines that the planet would come to build and they knew the purpose of these visions. They were going to stop the galaxy from destroying itself because they had to. They knew only one way for doing this, but they had the visions as their guide. So, they built the machines.

Piloted by a single Nordonian, these machines flew across the galaxy to various planets where populations at the time were small. They landed on the planets and buried the machines deep within the ground itself. The holes they made covered themselves in and in time, there was no sign of the machines existence. The pilots themselves eventually died, some clutching the controls, others curled up in peaceful positions and thinking of home. They knew what would happen thousands of years down the road. They had seen it.

For thousands of years the machines lay dormant, buried within such planets as Naboo and Coruscant, Kamino and Yavin IV, waiting for the programmed date to arrive on the timers. Now is that time. The machines are awaking from their slumber. Gears begin to turn, things begin to shift. These planet destroyers will stop the galaxy from cascading into chaos and sure death. They will create a vast army that cannot be stopped and they will devour the planets resources.

Can the galaxy unite to stop this menace or will it be torn apart?
