Generally 1 to 3 hours on weekdays, and then some long runs on the weekend of up to 6 hours or so.

Na, you won't die. You just have to slow down and keep moving forward. The more you run, the better condition you get in.

Do runners actually hit 'the wall' or should I stop watching television? There is such a thing as "the wall" but the people reporting on TV generally don't quite understand it. They don't quite yet understand than there is more to it than just the training. If you slow your pace and continue to replace calories, keep your electrolytes, and remain hydrated then you can litterally train to run and run and run. Right now the record for the longest continuous run is 350 miles in a little over 80 hours. The guy actually fell asleep while running and continued to move! Its okay. I'm not upset. Distance wasn't a factor. There were some circumstances that i'll tell you about in a little bit, some pretty big x
factors that made things tough and I didn't have the guts to continue.
