So what do you think the chances of having an Indiana Jones 5 starring Harrison Ford is? There were a few mentions that he might think about it a long time ago but I've heard nothing recently?

If they do an Indy 5 it'll be starring Shia LaBeouf as the new Indy, but I'm sure that Ford will have at least a supporting role in the movie to help
solidify Shia's first Indy movie. But if they do an Indy 6 then it'll be Shia as the only Indy.

I mentioned it above. It took from 1999 until 2007 to get Indy 4 into filming for its 2008 release. Finding a story they could all agree on was hard enough,
but then you have to factor in fitting production into the busy lives of George, Steven, Harrison, and others. We're luck enough to have gotten this one. I
don't think we'll get a new film. If we do get a film involving Shia, it won't be called Indiana Jones. And given the direction that Lucas film is
heading toward its more likely to be a TV series or mini series anyhow.

Frank Marshall Says Indy 5 Is A Go!
Posted By Justin on June 18, 2009
Hot on the heels of the previous story that has Shia LaBeouf leaking some Indy 5 details, we get this latest update from EmpireOnline.com and how the Indy 5 process is indeed coming along. See the excerpt below: "The hat is officially out of the bag. On Monday Shia Labeouf let slip that a follow up to Indiana Jones And The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was on the cards and now Frank Marshall has pretty much confirmed it, suggesting that Indy V could be approaching the pencil-chewing script development stage. Although he didn't specify timelines, Marshall told Empire that ideas would be worked on with a view to green-lighting production sooner rather than later. "It's really about the script," says the veteran Indy producer. "Once we see that, we'll see. We're not going to wait another 20 years. We'd all love to make another one. I'm anxious to hear the idea!" Click here to read the rest of the article. Well my fellow Indy fans - what do you think of the prospects of a 5th entry to the franchise? Should Ford, Lucas, and Spielberg have stopped with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and ended the theatrical series there? Or should they have not even gone back and made KOTCS? Does a soon-to-be 67 year old Ford still have enough left in his tank to make another Indy film? All things we should ponder... Source: EmpireOnline.com |

Indy 5 Filming Timeframe Update
Posted By Justin on July 3, 2009
Good buddy of mine and official Indy-Cast correspondent Mitchell Hallock provides us with this update on the status of the fifth Indiana Jones film from TheInsider.com and when shooting is expected to take place. See the relevant section of the article below: "It is claimed filming will not start until next year, and it will not be released before 2011, when the star will be 69. A source said: "Harrison has kept himself in good shape and could still do a lot of the stunts in the last film." Click here to read the rest of the short article. I don't know about you guys, but I was extremely disappointed with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. So the idea of Ford reprising his role as the greatest adventurer ever one last time at his advanced age has me feeling very skeptical of the final product we will see. Then again, I really could use another Indy film to help wash out the terrible taste KOTCS left in my mouth. Stay tuned, Indy fans...

Shia Indicates Work On Indy 5 Has Started!
Posted By Mike on June 16, 2009
Our friend Cameron McEwan at Den of Geek reports the following: "In a recent interview with BBC journalist Lizo Mzimba, actor Shia LaBeouf revealed that work on the next Indiana Jones film has begun. LaBeouf played the part of Mutt Williams, Indy's son, in last year's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. When asked about the fifth film in the Indiana Jones franchise the Transformers actor said: "Steven [Spielberg] just said that he cracked the story on it, I think they're gearing that up"' Click here for the full story! |

If it is as shitty as Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, then no thanks.

I think like Terminator they might use it as an opportunity to remove the lead cast member - Ford in this case - and make his son the main lead. Harrison Ford
is getting too old to be running around.

The prospect of that coming true is...frightening.

I'm looking forward to it. Crystal Skull wasn't the best Indiana film obviously, but it was a good movie.

If it is as shitty as Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, then no thanksWhy don't you shoot yourself and end your misery. If you can't enjoy an Indiana Jones film directed by Stephen Spielberg then you sure as hell can't enjoy anything at all about being alive. |

Why don't you just hand all your money over to Spielberg and Lucas, praise everything that they do and get it over with. You obviously aren't beholden
to any standards other than a 'It is good...' reaction to anything they put out.

Re: INDIANA JONES 5 OFFICIAL THREAD | ||

Crystal Skull was great until the last half hour...when it because absolute crap with a wildly unbelievable plot. Now, I know Holy Grails and Arks are
unbelievable, but in the contexts of those films they worked brilliantly. Unfortunately, Crystal Skull's ending was just ridiculous, sudden and downright
bizzarre.
I reckon if they could take the elements that made the first three films and 3/4 of the 4th they could make a good film. Ford is getting on in years though.... |

Of course. I didn't say there wasn't. But its still more likely that we get another show, rather than a movie. Lucas is moving toward TV, aside from a
few small film projects of his own.
