Well, this sounds awesome, in my opinion. I'm down with it; it'll be a nice shock for Matias to see Saelia amongst the Sith, anywho.

I would have to use this character for this sort of RP.

Since this character is from the KOTOR era it'd only make sense I use him back then.

OOC Discussion: Misconceptions about the force | ||
|
Several neutral characters and myself got together in chat and decided to bring this to light within the community. It seems that there are several
misconceptions about the force. This has been displayed in Neutral vs Force User combat. While it has been said "A Neutral can outsmart a force user and
win." it seems that even with that logic force users still like to use their 'I R farce uzer. Iz teh pwn."
Misconception #1.) Force Push ISN'T avoidable. Force Push is really no different from any other force acting upon your body (-Corringath). This makes alot of sense. While a Master's Force Push would be a fast and difficult to avoid for anyone other than an Elite with a good plan, a apprentice/padawan and possibly a knight's force push would not be nearly as strong. There was an issue that came up recently with a force user telling a neutral that force push was unavoidable. Just speaking on behalf of the neutrals on this issue. Misconception #2.) Pain makes you stronger? Wtf? This is mostly common with the Sith. A lack of a threshold when it comes to 'Pain makes you stronger." Many of us have noticed that the only time some characters take hits is when it benefits them using the 'Pain makes me stronger!" idea. Now, that makes sense. Using rage or the rush of adrenaline to enhance your abilities but there has to be a limit! Alot of times it seems like you cannot hit a sith without making them stronger. I mean, it would be pretty funny to see one get their spinal cord severed and continue with "Yes, I am stronger!". No my friend,...you are paralysed. Misconception #3.) Controlling the force with ease Once again. Far too often to characters forget the complexity of the force. Masters, ok, they are clearly masters at using the force and we will not touch on that issue. However Tier 1/Tier 2 users? Very often Neutrals implicate the complexities of using their technology in RPs. You can see Anna Sachae have trouble with the engines onboard her ship, or Marok Tidian dealing with an inexperience crew. Far too often do we see force users deflect blaster bolts with ease, avoiding well planned and thought out attack by neutrals. Yes. You see this in the movies, however those are 'heroic' characters deflecting 'NPC'/Drones. Here at TGC we have a 'heroic' Jedi/Sith deflecting the blaster bolts of an equally strong 'heroic' Smuggler/Stormtrooper/Mandalorian. (<~Probably the strongest point that needs to be kept in mind while RPing) To finish this, I am not saying that Neutrals don't spawn uber technology or spam a countless number of NPCs. This topic is really to inform force users how some of us Neutrals feel and to stimulate discussion. It was also meant to be some what funny >.> (Yes, some of my examples are a little over the top) |

Misconception numero dos reminds me of Dragonball Z.
This all goes completely back upon common sense which I have spoken about until blue in the face. Even I, as a Master, relate difficulty in certain abilities - I mean, what is the fun in being uber without flaw or conviction of consequence. However, I would like to point out that there are instances of Neutrals throwing tantrums because Force User Bob did this/that ability. I'm not disagreeing in a sense with those points made, but it gets equally bothersome from our side when that occurs. Like deflecting blaster bolts via the Force - Darth Vader did it in Cloud City and I recall in one of the EU deals Obi-Wan had done so as well. Now, if a FU does this, 9/10 a Neutral will complain. It's common sense which some bodies lack. :: eyes Disra and sticks out her tongue :: Can I slap you around and see if you get stronger? |
