It was a last minute mission that was put together by the Emperor himself. That explained why Marok was there, and only with his battle group. The Emperor had received a message from an old Sith contact, saying that something was going down at Theed, which posed a perfect opportunity for the Empire to finally dig out the remaining rebel bases hidden around the Galaxy. The Jedi and rebellion were close allies, or so it seemed. It only made logical sense that the Jedi had a list of known locations of rebel bases. If not, then at the least, they had a list of hidden Jedi Temples, which would be quite useful to the Empire's mission in rounding up and arresting all Jedi within Imperial space.

Marok's battle group had quickly appeared out of hyperspace and immediately engaged all Jedi forces in the area. Unfortunately, the Jedi didn't expect an attack on the ground and from space, especially from both the Sith and the Empire. Marok was not focusing on the space fight this time. No, he was going to have his boots on the ground for this one. He actually found himself on one of the assault shuttles that was currently launching from the hangar of his Imperial Star Destroyer and heading down to Theed.

"Remember," Marok yelled into his comm over the roar of the engines. "Sith are probably after the same thing we are. They are not to be trusted, for treaty or not, they have double crossed us in the past."

"Squad Aurek and Besh," he continued. "You are to go to the outer parts of the city and intensify those flames. I'm authorizing the use of harming civilians. We need to draw the Jedi away from the Temple, and to do that, the civilians must be in immediate danger. The rest are with me."

Marok found himself wearing his Crimson Guardian armor, his silver lightsaber on his belt. Realizing the fact that Jedi were better than him at lightsaber combat, his weapon of choice this time around was an E-11 blaster rifle, and a flamethrower, currently attached to his side. He had picked the most elite Stormtrooprs and infantry from the 454th Battalion, each the best that the Empire had to offer. The Jedi were going to get a fight, a fight they probably weren't ready for.

After a minute, Marok felt the drop ship touch ground, and the doors to either side of him opened up to reveal Theed in it's burning glory. The Temple was about a hundred yards away, and in between them and the Temple were Theed guards and Jedi, preoccupied putting out fires and fighting the Sith than to notice that the dropships were enemies, not allies. Some seemed to notice, though, that the troops coming out were Stormtroopers, and tried to open fire, but those that tried quickly were cut down by Marok's men.

"Push forward!" shouted Major Magnen. Marok took aim and fired the blaster rifle, hitting a Jedi Padawan square in the back, the boy's tunic scorched, his flesh exploding on impact. Oh how the thrill of battle made Marok feel alive!
