The origin of the text that follows begins with the posting of my biography of General Ceel in the Official Character Bio Thread on February 22 2002, about 5 months after the creation of the thread.
My original idea was to include with my IC biography, an OOC biography depicting how General Ceel came to be, in terms of the real life events that took place at TGC and Swfans. At that time, in a single sitting, and without research, i compiled the history of TGC from 1999 to the beginning of 2002.
The biography lay untouched until the beginning of 2004. In 2004 the text was extended to include my brief memories of the events from 2002 until the moment i picked the project up again in '04.
Following this second period of writing the biography was again neglected, however this time, only until the end of the year, at which time regular updates, which lasted from late 2004 until writing of this introduction, were began.
Even as the entries for Spring 2005 were being written, I had begun to toy with the idea of presenting the ever growing history in a more organized way. (My ulterior motive had to do with giving my In Character Biography more room to breath.) Ultimately it was a then recently created TGC Live Journal Community which sparked the possibility of displaying it in the form of a diary.
With the exception of the addition of "date markers," the first section of this Diary, the section compiled between February 2002 and May 9th 2005, is presented as it was originally written. The text slips in and out of tenses, uses fragments and run-ons, and often wanders with little rhyme or reason other than the presentation of my memories at the time they were being written. Rather than correct, update, and sanitize my original adolescent views, i thought it would be interesting to leave them in their original, raw, format.
All further sections of this diary, the sections written after May 9th 2005, will contain a wider breadth of detail, as well as show restraint, as they reflect where I am at as a person, and a writer, today.
