Any and all airborne
ships in the vicinity had shitt themselves and scattered, not necessarily in
that order, the moment The Revenge breached Rishi's atmo. The tweaked out and
looming appearance of the Venator class star destroyer was enough to make
anyone nervous, as it looked ready to collide, explode, or savagely attack at
any given moment.
Rishi reminded Marcus of Tatooine in a lot of ways, except that it actually had natural resources, and also giant carnivorous bird people living in the mountains. Regardless, Rishi was largely frequented by smugglers and criminals--the kinds of people with whom the Pirates were accustomed to dealing.
In a matter of minutes, The Revenge was casting its long shadow over the ramparts of Castle Tallheist. The destroyer's belly opened like a monstrous spider-mother giving birth. Squads of TIE defenders streamed from her womb, screeching through the air and swarming around the keep.
The siege had begun.
One Day Later...
It wasn't meant to be a long siege anyway. TIE defenders continually blockaded and sporadically attacked the castle, cutting off its resources and systematically debilitating its long-range defenses. All the castle could do was wait for the impending attack.
A brief history of Castle Tallheist:
When Rishi's fuel resources were first discovered, a certain crime lord acquired a small castle and its surrounding land. Soon the land was found to have a great deal of its own fuel resources and the crime lord became exorbitantly wealthy. Over many generations his descendants built up a secluded shining city around the original castle while mining the grounds bare. Since then it has been a haven for continued illegal mining and exotic trafficking of various goods and services.
The castle was currently ruled by Baron Warrick, a supposedly direct descendent of the original crime lord.
Marcus stood atop an AT-ST walker on the shore across from Tallheist. He had just finished conversing with a bird person, who was now fast in flight away from the siege and toward the mountains.
"Alright you scabrous dogs! Listen up." He called to the assembly of pirates and outlaws gathered below him on the shore. "There is a vault beneath this little estate. Intel says it's potentially Jedi-affiliated. When we head in, we're going in hot so let's be inescapably clear on the parts you are to play."
"The brunt of our assault will be upon the front gates. Lestrange will lead the attack aided by all hands not designated elsewhere.
Kat'ra, you and Jakob will ride an AT-ST into the city and locate the communications center. Disable their comms and jam their radios. Take control of their systems and then rendezvous with the rest of us.
Ava, you will lead the Iron Ferrets to rain hell down upon the ramparts while we are still outside. Once we're in, lead the Ferrets to fly inside and raze the entire sodding city. Defend The Revenge or otherwise improvise if necessary.
I will be spear-heading a vault extraction. Everyone should be ready to converge on my location the moment their objectives are complete.
Fall behind and get left behind. Savvy?"
