"No - this isn't private property. It's a forest clearing, and not the safest place on Dathomir." The reply had a hole in it big enough to fly a freighter through, but Tyen left it alone. Whoever she was, she didn't appear to be a threat of any kind. "There is a settlement of sorts not too far from here; if you need a place to rest we have actual beds available for free, and you won't have to worry about a Rancor finding you while you slept." Tyen was always a sucker for hard-luck cases and pretty girls. It was unlikely that was ever going to change.

The comment was not meant to be rude... well, perhaps a bit. Who did he think he was insinuating that she stood no chance against a Rancor. Almost did she laugh at her own thoughts, for she did not know the first things about Rancors, and surely -if not all her mind was lost and not just the memories- she should take Tyen's advice. Yet, Luna was headstrong and willful, not wanting to admit that she was quite defenseless should anything happen. As well as quite lost. "But... just to quiet your own concerns, I will take you up on your offer. But just for you, its not that I need protection." Hunger suddenly rumbled within her, having no idea when last she ate. Hand went to her stomach, looking again toward the trees and wondering how truthful Tyen spoke of such threats that wandered this path. But right now, all she could think of was food - and if a Rancor came suddenly blundering out of the woods, how he would taste roasted on the fire. "Um," A shy start, again not wishing to admit her predicament nor that she needed help. "...is there some free food around as well?"

I'll have to mind that. Tyen nodded at Luna's response. "Well thank you for caring about my worries, and yes - are amply supplied. There's plenty of food for everyone." Tyen gestured to the airspeeder, which obediently opened both hatch doors. "There is also a capable com station, so that you can send a signal to whomever you wish once you've rested. I promise you: we are the most gracious and courteous of hosts." He stepped over to the speeder and offered a hand to help Luna settle in. "After you."

For some reason unbeknownst to her, her feet would not move. Try again, I can not be made the fool. Yet it was as if the ground reared upward, burying her legs it concrete. Luna tried moving away worried that her legs were paralyzed in immobility, but that worked - even more-so than she expected as she clumsily stumbled in the opposite direction of the ship. "Um... I think I'll walk. Beautiful day, ya know. Would not want to miss it..." Lame excuse, but she started to realize what caused the butterflies to tremble within her as she thought about the airspeeder. The height. The fear was blatant, her phobia deeply set within the young girl. There was no way she was going to get on the craft, and be high off the ground as it flew. She could only hope he would come with her, for now he had placed the idea of packs of Rancors wandering the grounds, jaws dropping open to reveal daggered teeth and rancid drool.

Clearly Luna was self-concious; she needed to feel safe. Still, there were practical matters to consider. "Uh, Luna? Our home is over a day's travel on foot, and you're really not dressed for walking through a jungle. The airspeeder will get us there much quicker ..." He allowed a slight pause. "... unless, there's a problem?" Tyen did his best to offer his friendliest expression. Unlike some Jedi, he avoided using the Force to influence the situation. It just seemed like cheating, and he couldn't predict what Luna would think of it if she ever came to realize some day that he unduly influenced her mind. Far better - far more honest - to just accept the situation presented. "Look: I know you don't know me, but you're kind of in a bad situation here. All I want to do is help, and if there's something wrong I'll make it right, or at least better. It's what I do." Tyen also hesitated, chosing not to use the line 'I'm a Jedi'. This had different connotations to different people. He told the truth - he was there to help. Nothing else mattered for the moment.

She hadn't really expected Selena to say much... she'd been fairly quiet the whole trip thus far, and this was a new situation. "My name is Bethany, and this is my padawan, Selena," she motioned with one hand in Selena's direction, but not taking her eyes off of the girl. "I'm sorry I wasn't at our meeting place," Andera rushed, as though she hadn't really heard. "Sometimes I just lose my head and completely forget appointments! I don't have my aid here to keep me straight." She let out a little giggle behind her hand. "I'd just been getting ready to leave, and here you are!" Bethany just looked at the girl for a moment before nodding slowly. "Well, we are indeed here, and here for a reason. Do you have the artifact? I know that you must be eager to not need to worry about it any longer. What a burden it must have been...." Andera nodded, shifting her feet nervously. She simply stood for a moment until Bethany arched an eyebrow at her, then giggled again as though she'd forgotten in just that short time. Turning away from the Jedi, she hurried into the other room, presumably to fetch the Sith artifact. Bethany leveled a heavy look on her padawan's face. Something was amiss, something was very, very wrong. Her own hands slipped down until they rested lightly on her hips, right hand brushing against her saber, but not drawing it.

Either he would slowly try to accustom her to the height of the landspeeder, but hell if she wanted to go near that thing. Another possibility is he would try to work through the phobia by understanding her past - but what past? That brought the other of her problems to the surface, which she did not want. Or he could downplay her fears, voicing how the landspeeder would keep close to the ground and such. But it would have to be above the jungles, which was too high for her whatever he proclaimed. Of course he could always knock her out suddenly and push her aboard... but she did not really wish the headache. So why give away her weaknesses, when lies seemed so much easier? "A bad situation? Nonsense, Tyen!" She giggled slightly, sweeping her hand down along the grasses to spring a flower free from the ground. She placed it in her hair, a smile replacing her disdain as she breathed in the beauty of nature around her. "I know- lets go camping! Be one with nature, and all that... please come on with me! Oh, it will be so much fun! And then we will make it there tomorrow, no rush, right?"

With a sigh he stepped about the airspeeder to open a small cargo compartment. Inside was a survival kit - standard issue, just in case of a breakdown. Moving over to the driver's cockpit, he sent a signal to the enclave and activated a homing beacon before shutting the hatches. "There - somebody will come pick it up later." There was a part inside Tyen that could sense Luna's fear. He could also sense that there was far more to her than she let on, but on the other hand there was no deception - at least, very little. Whatever was bothering her, it wasn't some kind of trap and it wasn't that she minded his presence. She just wanted to be away from the airspeeder. Maybe it was confinement, or being in an enclosed space with a stranger, or something else. Tyen could've insisted, or worked on it, but no - that was something that was done between friends or with a trusted professional. Tyen was neither. He could've searched further to understand what was really bothering Luna, but that would be intruding. Above all else Tyen respected the sanctity of a sentient mind. It was one thing to sense a radiating thought. To pry ... never! Being assigned to Dathomir, Tyen made a point of studying the local flora and fauna. He could last in the wilds indefinitely, and he wouldn't need to do near that. He had enough water for the trip, and he had a com-link along. If they needed anything at all, he could call for it. What she wanted to do was foolish, but handled right it wouldn't be dangerous; just time consuming. However, Tyen didn't have anywhere he needed to be for a while so there was no harm in indulging her. "Well, home is that way. Shall we?" Tyen started at just a bit of a lead. He'd need to find an easy route; one that would accomidate a woman in a dress. They weren't in the most inhospitable terrain of Dathomir, so traversing the distance on ground was possible - it would just take longer.

The girl was obviously confused by worry and was not thinking straight but it seemed incredibly outlandish that it would be this severe. The family had obviously had the lyric for many generations so why would it suddenly be such a risk to her. It was irrational. Selena hated things that were irrational, they made no sense. And things that make no sense, were problems. Problems had to be delt with eventually. Sometimes the solution was not obvious to the problem, much like it was right now. Selena was forced to not act, not that she would anyways being a padawan. She took Bethany's lead and put her hand on the saber at her waist. It was a small move, but it offered some comfort that the moment. If something were to happen, and one could never be too sure with the darkside clouding everything, then she would at least be slightly ahead of the game.

There was a sense of undeniable purpose about the way the elder Sith moved, and Dirk was not surprised to find himself caught up in it, as if being pulled along by the irresistible tide. An electric rush of excitement prickled over his skin as they stalked through the quiet hallways of the hotel complex, each step bringing them closer to the artefact. The fear and uncertainty was still palpable, but there was something else now, too - a heady anticipation which almost echoed the apprentice's own expectant desire. He felt his feet rushing onwards, almost getting ahead of himself, so much so that he wanted to break into a run and charge down the hallway, kicking down the door in a shower of splinters, tearing the artefact from the girls hands - "Focus." Van-Derveld's voice cut through his absent-minded fantasy like a butchers knife. Blinking, Dirk was aware quite unexpectedly that they had stopped walking - they had arrived. A perfectly ordinary door stood before them. Dirk half expected Fenris to hold out a hand and simply make the flimsy thing explode, muttering something about people and the pathetic trust they invested in locks. There was something absurd about the idea of a Sith Master knocking to request entrance, and yet that was exactly what Van-Derveld did - he lifted one fist and rapped his knuckles, three times, against the door. *knock... knock... knock...*

They definitely were in need of some help, and did not give off the impression of a Noble's lodgings at all. As a matter of fact, she could not really see a middle class person living in them. They were pathetic and dingy. If Bethany was not so sure of the mission then she might think it some over the top ruse directed to trap two jedi. The kind of thing that she would do to a sith, or imagine being done by a sith. Nasty business really, but that's how it all looked. *knock... knock... knock...* Her head spun around to look at the door behind her. She had not noticed anyone approaching, nothing was out of the ordinary. As she glanced over the area just beyond the door she found it to be in a haze. It was just so unclear to her what was on the other side. It was definitely a person but the reason behind their being there, the intent. Completely foreign. She looked at her master for direction. A small nod from Beth told her to go over to the door. Slowly her hand wrapped around the nob and pulled on it slightly. "I think you have the wrong house."

Even after the padawan spoke, most of the rest of the room was silent. Andera, because this was an akward.... very akward situation. Selena, probably because she still thought this was some big mistake. And Bethany because she knew exactly who these two were. While she didn't recognize the younger of the two, the elder's face was well known to her. Though they had only met once, that single stalemate had made a clear impression on the Jedi Master. Vega and Raziel had attempted to instigate an uprising of inmates on Corellia during the Sith attack of Bethany's homeworld. There had been no clear winner or loser that day, but Bethany had been left with a cold sensation in the bottom of her heart by the sheer power that could be brought to the Sith fold by that pair. While Raziel was not at his side, this in no way mitigated the knowledge that things had gone very wrong indeed. Emerald eyes widened slightly as she took this all in. Her eyes stayed on the Sith, but she spoke to Andera in a deceptively calm voice. "I assume you can explain why there are two sith knocking at your door who seem to know you?" Andera looked back and forth, the small object mostly hidden in her hands forgotten for the moment. The silence was all the answer Bethany really needed. The Jedi had been fooled, led here purposely, but to what end, she couldn't fathom. It just all clicked into place, especially as Andera made a bolt for the door, passing the stunned padawan and fleeing toward the Sith.... "Andera!"

She wondered if in fact this place he spoke of would become her 'home' or if she was destined -or rather doomed- to live wandering in this galaxy. His thoughts flowed through the air surrounding her, not specifics only the emotions behind them. It was almost as if he were speaking or if reading the lines cross his face. "A dress will not hinder me, I'll be fine. You worry too much!" She spoke, not realizing that she was responding to his unsaid sentiment. Though she found nothing supernatural in her words, for even the commonplace gestures of the way he uneasily looked at her dress and his gaze cross the fields as if to measure which route would be the most undemanding were telling about his concerns. ooc. hope it is ok I lifted that thought from you, just wanted a reason for you to sort of suspect I am Force sensitive.

Tyen raised an eyebrow to Luna's words. He didn't say anything, did he? No - he was fairly sure he didn't. How could she know, unless ... ? He dismissed the thought for the moment. There were multiple ways she could've come by that conclusion, and in any case they wouldn't change his future for the next two days. If she were a Sith he would've sensed it; he sensed nothing. They would be safe until they reached the enclave. There they would get answers. Tyen allowed the journey to proceed in silence for a while, before deciding that a little conversation might kill the monotony. "That's some lovely markings on your face. Does it mean something special, or is it just for appearance?" It was a little embarassing to admit and something that some Jedi would disapprove of Tyen saying, but they were alone - he could relax out here.

A soft question, her hand went to her face as if to trace what she could not see. Even if her memories were intact, she would not know of the tattoo for it was done during the time lapse between Nar Shaddaa and Dathomir. Struggling to recoup, she looked off to the distant mountains hoping he would not notice her confusion over the supposed artwork on her face. "You know... drunk one night, out with friends. It happens." She decided not to be more specific considering she did not know what the design was of. Though the intricacies of the tattoo clearly opposed her lie. "So tell me what your job is? Or is it wandering the hills, scouting for fair maidens who need saving?

Usually you end up with something ugly; that's beautiful." As she asked about Tyen's job, he winced a little. This was the part he was afraid of; she might respond badly if she had a poor or checkered history, yet it was best if he didn't lie or cover up. Even if Luna wasn't being forthcoming with him, Tyen needed to be as honest as possible with her. It was the only way to build trust. "Actually, you're not too far off. I'm a Jedi Knight - I watch the region for people who need my help, and offer what assistance I can. The place we're going to is an Enclave, but it's all but deserted. We're more of an outpost here, you'll have plenty of privacy."

But then he spoke of being a Jedi. It was strange how one word could be so unfamiliar yet so familiar at once. "A Jedi?" The word turned over on her lips, both bitter and sweet at the same time. "That is very noble of you, to sacrifice your life to help others. I am not sure if I could be so virtuous, so selfless. I admire you Tyen - after all, here you are walking a complete stranger in the middle of nowhere... I am sure you have better things to do then waste time with me."

"Actually, no: I have absolutely nothing better to do at this moment than to make sure you find a safe haven. The safety of one person is worth whatever trouble is necessary." It was the truth, although perhaps not the whole truth. The Jedi Council was known for making decisions which balanced the fates of millions, and even he had his reservations about rescuing people, if their fate was merely to turn themselves over to the Sith. Yet Tyen knew what the ideal was supposed to be; someday he hoped to achieve it in his heart. In the meantime, there was the lady in his care. Tyen stepped through a clearing and gratefully located a pomacea tree. A dozen reddish-yellow fruit hung from almost every branch, and thankfully there were enough to pick a few out that weren't marred by insects. "Here - the taste tends to be a little tangy, but they're good and ripe. It's a lot better than having to survive the whole hike on ration bars."

It was a rather interesting situation that was unfolding the moment that her master stated that they were Sith, which made perfect sense. Perfect sense in a way that Selena felt really dumb that she had even opened the door. She should have known better, and yet she did not. It was just more proof that she had screwed up. Horribly. The moment Andera took a run to the door Selena's eyes shot wide open. Everything was going incredibly terrible at the moment and Selena could not help but feel partly responsible. It had been her opening the door that had put the Sith at the advantage, and now giving Andera a way out and an escape path for the artifact. Selena was of the belief that the mission was a bit more important than anything else, and as such the artifact retrieval was to be the chief objective in all this. She had just a brief moment to act, and it really was not enough to make a rational decision despite her trying to keep her mind clear. Her left hand, and inferior hand for that matter, went to her waste and took her lightsaber outwards in a quick motion. The intent was to have it ignight in front of Andera and stop her from moving forward. Should Andera be so slow and not react quickly enough, she would just suffer a nasty burn at her upper chest.

The delicious juices filled her senses, quenching the hunger she had. Luna had no idea when last she ate, and was thankful for the treat. "Delicious!" She mumbled between bites, her smile lopsided but full in her proclamation. "So do you enjoy the Jedi life? Do you do what you feel or is there some higher ups who set the orders?" She did not know much about the Jedi, same thing as all in her memories. She knew what a tree was, that one needed to beware the rancors, where Coruscant spun- what a Jedi was... a shimmer of the knowledge she had gained throughout a life forgotten. Yet what deluded her was the extent and depth of the facts that seemed commonplace. The Jedi - equated with monks, hermits. Those who fight. Fight darkness. But to her the facts that she could recall seemed to solely scratch the surface to a much deeper understanding that she was all but missing. Sitting down with an ungraceful movement to the grasses, eyes a curious glow as she looked toward Tyen, as if awaiting for him to reveal to her all the locked secrets of the galaxy. She was in no rush to get to this haven he spoke of, for she enjoyed his company and was not sure if he should leave her once reaching their destination.
