Posts: 108658 (01/28/09 12:22) TGC Owner Jedi Master 1138 More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Tags : groups, the jedi council, the sith council, force factions It been over a year now since the consolitation of our Jedi and Sith into single factions was successfully completed: December 2006: Discussion on consolidation of TGC's last remaining "Force" Factions begins. January 15th 2007: The Jedi Council & Jedi Brotherhood Merge to become "The Jedi Council" January 16th 2007: Dark Sith Order & Sine Occasu: Sith Brotherhood merge to become "The Sith Council Is the galaxy ready to expand again? That is the question to be debated here. If you can convince me, I would approve it. But it will be an uphill battle for you. I'm currently still against it due to a couple nagging reasons that led me to push for the mergers in the first place, reasons that have yet to be fully resolved. No doubt there are others who see it as I do. This is the place for debate. The floor is open for discussion....

I think the galaxy is ready for more Force Factions. It will give way to more alliances and possibilities for RPs.

Its essentially the same flaw as terms like "Shadow" and "Dark" Jedi. I mean, didn't you guys see Revenge of the Sith? Empire kills Jedi. Jedi don't support Empire. And you didn't see Palpy and Vader try and raise a generation of force users during their reign. Its hogwash. And its long been banned at TGC for that very reason. Furthermore, force users are still not allowed in neutral factions and vise versa, but thats another debate topic...

And Imperial Knights are not "Shadow" Jedi. If you'd actually read the wikia you'd have seen. They're Jedi, lightsiders, that hold to the same philosophy as the Jedi Order. The only difference is that Imperial Knights are more political and support a government which they see as more stable then the Republic.

We're already dealing with motivating the members to participate more and I think that possibly breaking them apart might damage the slow stability we'ved gained. Both factions have the "member count" to be able to stand alone in multiple factions, but not the activity. Who knows though? Maybe it might boost activity. I think it's very iffy. >_>

I know ALOT of Neutrals that would be willing to debate this topic. Could you post a debate for this as well?

Should a new force user faction or two rise, the Entire galaxy will have to react to them. TGE/TR will have to decide their stance on them. TJC will have to decide if this new lightside faction is full of heretics. TSC will figure out what to do with these new sith. It would be really interesting. (Yuku won't let me sign out >.<)

I mean if the new faction was all existing characters, transferring, it might have more of a chance of working, but with alts... nah. People seem pretty thinly spread already, in that area.

Doesn't stop people from doing it though. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the Imperial Knights. I don't see how Jedi could support what the Empire stands for - you know, the fact that they are an anti-alien war-mongering dictatorship and all.

You are still going to end up spending the most time on one character, regardless of how many you have.

It's just a suggestion made by a member. Not what should be debated here. It might cause a mass exodus, probably will, but depending on the leadership of these new factions will decided if it will all be alts or existing characters. I mean, this new leadership could pull some strings and do some massive recruiting. I know I got alot of people from SWC and a SWG rp board to come to TGC.
