As far as I can remember and last I've heard grey/shadow Jedi are not allowed on TGC. I could have sworn hearing Ceel saying this a many time before.

I haven't read one post in this thread. I don't plan on it either because....I really don't care what any of you have to say.
For those to care about what I have to say: If there is to be more than one force faction then they should be IC groups such as the rules allow for now. Two jedi is just silly, because then you still have other people like myself that are "rogues". So really it's a lose lose lose situation. People will create alts to help bolster the new factions and draw time and effort away from the existing factions and other members(such as myself) won't make alts to helpout and won't join them either plus there's members that will just leave the factions we have for the new ones which doesn't create new activity it just seperates old activity. If you don't want to be a member of the force factions that exist now, perhaps there should be a way for a rogue master to train a student(padawan or apprentice) on TGC instead of on a faction board, that would make a lot more sense. I mean really? What do you need a faction for that you can't just do yourself in character? That's the purpose of writing, to build your characters story. If not a traditional jedi or sith, then you roam as a rogue and band with the others in character that you respect and move on from there. The factions are not what's important, the RPs are what's important. The factions are for training, they don't dictate the storys that you choose to write. You could be writing posts right now about whatever goofy sh*t you want your character to be doing.

Rach. There is a difference between Shadow and Grey.
I believe Ceel means Shadow. If someone wants to RP a grey Jedi then that is perfectly legit. In fact, I am sure alot of people already RP grey Jedi here at TGC without even knowing it. There isn't THAT big of a difference between a grey Jedi and a Jedi. People think it is some "omg, i can uze b0th sidez of teh farce n haf n0 repurrrrrcushions.". |

Make a new Sith board, and I assure you Ceel that at least for a little while there are members who will try their hardest to make it a success. Make another Jedi board, and once more you will find members who will try and make it a success. Edit: My point is, give it a try.

Aye, there are people who want to. People with the desire to bring in a new age to TGC and stop a degree of stagnation in the scheme of the TGCverse.

So that is Korran, Remy, myself and maybe Alto & Disra's alts (??). That is (maybe) the 5 needed under the old rules; let us give it a try, Ceel. And I
do not think anyone has any 'agenda' or whatnot that was mentioned previously; we just want a chance to contribute & rp again in a group setting.
Also no one wants to pull members away from TSC- if they do leave that would be their nonpressured choice. If Ceel allows another faction I know I will be
relying on advertising off of TGC to hopefully reel in some newcomers.
One more thing just as a sidenote: I may not bring in Sky (I actually accidentally posted with her( |

I know one Jedi who would be up for a new Jedi faction, namely myself. And now if only Jameris and I can locate Siris. Then we have three.

Hmm...I'd be ok with it. I think it'd be interesting to have Jedi from another faction running around, not to mention sith from different factions.
There's nothing wrong with giving it a try, I mean heck, if it didn't work, then everyone could just go back to their old factions, though they
wouldn't have thier staff positions again. Although it'd be nice if the Jedi and Sith factions had something else to offer then the current ones.
When TJB was strong, it was partly due to the fact that we were known as aggressive Jedi, and we took a more agressive stance on things then Jedi usually do. We still loved and wanted peace, but went at it a different way. I don't remember much about RIP and DSO's differences, but I wasn't part of thier factions so I wouldn't really know. Still it'd be interesting to see where it goes. |

Yes. About 6 or 7 of us were brainstorming last night. Things went well. If a new faction was allowed, then this one is the way to go.
You missed alot Sky >.< But I'm glad to see I am not the only one that TGCs on his phone! |

I really like some of the ideas getting thrown around in that brainstorming session last night. If the plan does get approved I'd even be willing to throw
Samara back to the darkside for it.

Yeah, with more thought, I like the idea of another force faction. However, I think we should take caution in creating one that is too similar to either the
Jedi, or the Sith. The main reason being that it would detract from their membership, splitting what is essentially one faction into two. Although I don't
know all the details, so I could be wrong, but it seems to me that any rivalries within the Jedi or Sith could be played out without creating another faction.
I would like to see a new faction that balances the two, occupying an ideological middle ground between the Jedi and the Sith. Not sure what the offical term for that would be (Grey, Shadow, etc.) However, I'd be more then happy to put an alt up for it, or even get Michael involved somehow assuming it makes sense IC with TGE and all that. |

I think it's important to note that a new Sith faction shouldn't and wont be THE SHINY NEW TOY for everyone to join. What the goal would be is to get
things going in another way, perhaps something more classic in the Sith sense, while taking the pressure off of TSO to be the quintessential sith faction.
Because all the sith are lumped into TSO, it's rather amorphous with little specific feeling to it. This would give TSO a chance to really define itself,
since thus far it hasn't had to because it was the ONLY sith faction. No real uniqueness about it--it's like a giant box labeled SITH GO HERE.
The important part of a new sith faction would be NOT cutting tso in half and trying that, but rather building it from the story outward. I'm really tired of the story having to fit the OOC method to the madness--I think it's time the Story dictates how things go. |
